According to a report of the WHO, in 2017, over 55% of the 54.4 million deaths worldwide are from the US, which is half of the percentage. In 2020 due to the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus approx, 568000 died in the US. If we go through the statistics of the past 5 years, 74% of deaths in the US are due to mainly these 10 reasons:

Heart disease

Percentage-24.5%

The leading cause of death in men and women not only in the US but worldwide. Heart diseases are of different kinds, but the average is due to the accumulation of plaque in the wall of arteries; this makes the passage narrower and eventually, the flow of blood also uneven, which results in the increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke.

Prevention- To reduce the risk of dying from heart conditions, one should start a healthy, low-calorie diet, exercise regularly, and better understand consulting with your doctor.

Cancer

Our body is made of cells which are the smallest unit of the body, and it keeps dying, and new cells are formed. When the body is unable to control these dead cells, they interfere in the essential systems and result in death. The total percentage of deaths -21.3%.

Prevention- If it is a genetic one, cannot do anything except take required treatment and for others stop smoking cigarettes, consuming alcohol.

Suicides

Second leading causes of death. A person takes his life due to either mental health condition such as depression, anxiety, bipolar condition, etc.

Prevention-Make a strong support network, have the proper medications, spend time with friends and family, and share your thoughts; surely, it will help reduce suicidal thoughts.

Unintentional injuries

Death due to injuries from any accident may be from traffic accidents, in the workplace, working with heavy machinery, and consumption of drugs and other narcotic items. In the US, 6% of deaths come under this category with aged 1-44 years.

Prevention -Being always alert, grab the environmental conditions and act upon them. During driving, use the seat belt, don’t consume alcohol and drugs. It will save your life and the other people.

Chronic respiratory disease and kidney disease

In this group, the lung condition blocks the air passage, which makes him unable to breathe and eventually dies. The conditions are chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchitis, emphysema, asthma and in the case of a kidney, when the body isn’t able to get rid of impure blood and can’t further filter the blood, it causes kidney failures.

To prevent these, firstly stop smoking and flow a healthy lifestyle, do exercises regularly.

Alzheimer’s disease

This happens when the brain cells were damage; as a result of this, neurons are not able to function properly. Due to which its effects on the person’s cognitive conditions, they are even unable to do basic activities like eating, speaking, walking etc. Around 5.8 million people in the US have this disease.

There is no prevention for this, with the help of some medication, and treatment may slow down the effect, but this disease will go with life.

Diabetes

Our body breaks down the food into small glucose and energy packets, and the pancreas regulates these into different parts. When the body no longer has control over the blood glucose, it creates the condition where the blood sugar of the body rises and results in diabetes.

Prevention – control the risk by regulating the diet and regular exercises. Take insulin and supplements directed by the doctor.

Influenza and pneumonia

The flu is generally due to virus infection, which is contagious and spreads from one to another. This is mainly in winters when the viruses easily prosper in cold conditions. Prevent by taking medicines and following social distancing. Pneumonia is a lung condition where the air sacs were filled with pus and other liquid, prevents the oxygen from reaching the bloodstream, and due to fewer oxygen cells cannot work properly.
