According to health experts, they speculate that as the holiday period is near, some festivals can be celebrated like the earlier normal times, but they also state that Covid-19 is not over yet and precaution must be taken.
According to the concerned authorities, children who have been fully vaccinated can go outdoors and enjoy trick-or-treating.
Although Covid Is Not Over Yet, It Safe To Resume
The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Anthony Fauci, stated to an employee of CNN on Sunday that this can serve as a good explanation and reason as to why everyone should consider getting vaccinated because it would make times like such festivals more enjoyable without any fear of contracting the virus.
Dr. Megan Ranney, who is the associate dean of the School of Public Health at Brown University, stated that children who are too young to get vaccinated are advised to stay inside and celebrate Halloween indoors. She also emphasized parents who live in potentially risky areas to make their children wear masks during the celebrations.
According to the John Hopkins University, overall, the United States is experiencing the good news phase as the rate of hospitalizations and new infections are on a path of decline. The daily average rate of new cases has fallen below from 100,000 to 93,814 when it was last recorded on Sunday.
Dr. Fauci presented his views that he wished to see the new infection rates below ten thousand but stated that a decline also meant good news for the future and urged for the reduction to be constant. He sternly warned that even though the situation may seem to be getting better and we may be on the verge of defeating the coronavirus, the battle against Covid-19 is not over yet and we shall not take it lightly.
He said that people need to be careful, and they should not start celebrating the victory over the virus as of now, because there are still sixty-eight million people left who are yet to be vaccinated and if we are not careful, there are chances that we can be overpowered by the virus once again.
The director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has also stated that our upcoming actions of the future are the only variables that would decide the fate of this virus and whether the pandemic would end or not.
Approximately 56.4% of the population of the United States have been successfully vaccinated against the Covid-19 virus, according to the data from the Centers for Disease Control. According to Dr. Fauci, the experts do not know the exact percentage of people that are needed to get vaccinated to stop the spread of the coronavirus, but most of the population needs to get the vaccine to get better results for the future.
There is a speculation of a potential rise in the rates of infections due to the holiday season that is approaching because people tend to travel and attend gatherings which can be problematic.
Thus, the health officials have made it mandatory to be vaccinated to travel by air in this holiday season and Dr. Esther Choo, the Professor of Emergency Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University, stated that it is the correct time to issue mandates for airlines because the people are already busy in making plans for the upcoming winter holiday season.
