A new Dragon Ball Goku figure has arrived, and in this one, Son Goku is taking the fight to court!

Seemingly aimed at basketball and Dragon Ball fans alike, this Goku figurine features fan-favorite Goku in a way fans might not be used to seeing! Instead of saving the world, he appears to have traded his karate gi for basketball kicks, just in time for the NBA playoffs!

The collectible figure is provided to us by ABsinthe & SeeYou Studios. ABsinthe Studios recently made a name for itself with its scandalous character My Dress-Up Darling Kitagawa Marin, which features a detachable bikini.

According to the description on the website, the basketball Goku figure is made of resin and PU (polyurethane). Its dimensions are estimated at about 37 x 21 x 20 cm.

Where can I buy this basketball goku figure?

If you’re already dying to buy the figure, you can do so through the 4ugk website.

While there’s no official release date yet, the Goku figure is currently available for pre-order.

At the time of this writing, fans and potential buyers can expect to spend a whopping $253.14 for the statue. However, if that’s too much for your blood, fans can also put down a deposit of $86.65 and pay the rest in full later.

You might want to act fast as it appears there are only 188 available at the time of this writing! That means it will most likely be a limited series. If it’s sold out, the only option is to hope that a collector will sell it on eBay in the future.

Will there be more basketball-playing Dragon Ball figures from the series?

If you’re not exactly a Goku fan but are still a basketball and Dragon Ball fan, you might be wondering if another of your favorites will also be immortalized in a statue.

While no other basketball-related pre-orders are currently open for other characters, the 4ugk website has promotional images featuring several other characters in basketball gear. They might hint at future releases for characters like Piccolo, Vegeta, and Frieza.

While not part of the same collection, there is also a Buu x Chicago Bulls figure on the site. It features the villain in a Chicago Bulls jersey and wearing a pair of Jordan 13 basketball shoes. It is available for $117.39.

Why do Goku’s shoes look so familiar?

Some of you may have noticed that this character doesn’t have Goku dressed in his traditional orange and blue gi.

While the character plays out the general color palette that Dragon Ball fans know and love, he ensures his usual getup is reworked into a more appropriate athletic attire of jersey and basketball shorts.

The most significant change, however, is Goku’s footwear. At first glance, he only wears very stylish orange and blue high-top basketball shoes. If you’re a casual sneaker fanatic, you might have given them a fleeting glimpse. However, if you keep up with shoe releases, especially anime-related, you might recognize these kicks from the Anta x Dragon Ball Super line of shoes.

These particular shoes, the Anta x Dragon Ball Super “Son Goku” Men’s Basketball Culture Shoes, are not only designed to give this Goku character extra street cred. You can actually buy them!

You can shop the Anta x Dragon Ball Super “Son Goku” Men’s Basketball Culture Shoes here, along with a ton of other character-based shoes from the collection. They currently cost $169.00.

Does the Dragon Ball Goku character have a risky option?

If you’ve been keeping up with the latest trend of new numbers, you might have noticed some slightly more scandalous numbers in the market.

Eren from Attack on Titan and Marin from My Dress-Up Darling have both received the daring treatment, releasing figures that not only have a nude option, but are anatomically correct too!

As far as we can tell, this Dragon Ball Goku figure appears to be keeping all his clothes on!

Whether that’s a plus or a disappointment is up to the buyer!
