Mukalef, a Turkish fintech company, helps entrepreneurs set up and run an online business through a range of services that help simplify the usually complicated process.
The online platform allows entrepreneurs to set up companies in Turkey, United States, United Kingdom, Germany as well as other EU countries through Estonia and manage all their financial processes.
The company, which operates overseas through the Varkey brand launched in June, has helped create over 3,000 online businesses in the first half of the year due to demand from the e-commerce industry.
The data shows that most of the companies formed in Turkey from January to June were formed in the areas of e-commerce, delivery, software, advertising and consulting.
In addition to designers and software developers working as freelancers, e-commerce is also at the top of the list in the US, UK, Estonia and Germany.
Almost half of the company’s launchers affected people aged 18-25, followed by 32% in the 25-35 age group and 11% in the 35-45 age group, the data showed.
Most of the companies in Turkey were founded in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, Antalya, Konya, Adana, Kocaeli, Gaziantep and Eskiehir.
320 fields of activity
Mukalef and Workahi founder Okan Safak pointed to the growing trend of starting an online business in an increasingly digital environment.
“Applications that help users manage everything from a single platform and save time are gaining a lot of attention today. Starting from the start of a business, we provide one-stop access by digitizing all the financial processes that an individual entrepreneur might need,” said Safaq.
Mukalef has brokered the creation of over 13,000 online companies operating in 320 sectors of activity over a three-year period since its inception.
“While we are seeing high demand from e-commerce, delivery and software, we have been helping established businesses for entrepreneurs across many independent sectors, from birdseed production, tattoo design and biochemistry to musical instrument production and carpets. Including cleaning. We expect this interest to grow rapidly in the coming period,” Safaq said.
Six new markets in focus
Speaking about the goals for this year, he said they have further intensified their work in overseas markets with the recent launch of Workhee.
“Our goal is to meet the needs of entrepreneurs in more than 140 countries from A to Z. By the end of the year, we plan to expand to Canada, the Netherlands, Hungary, Montenegro, Malta and Singapore and to thousands of companies, providing financial solutions to organizations worldwide.
