As the Covid-19 cases, hospitalizations, and demise rates are improving, it is proven to be a positive sign for the pandemic future.
But as there are Americans who have still not gotten their booster shots, the Covid-19 case numbers can go up as per the statement passed from Dr. Anthony Fauci.
Fauci Says That The Covid-19 Cases Number Are Decreasing
Dr. Anthony, the National Institute of Allergy and infectious disease director and medical advisor of Joe Biden added “If it doesn’t go well in this regard then there will always be the danger that the virus is still spreading and can have the stalling of diminishing number of Covid-19 cases and when it happens, as seen in the past, the other waves of the pandemic may arise soon.
But the Covid-19 cases are still higher with an average of 85000 infections per day. Also, this number has seen 8000 less from the prior weeks. This data was out by Johns Hopkins University. Also, the death rate is down at an average of 200+ per day from the month starting.
The increase in the number is still a threat because of the lower vaccination rates. As per Sunday, 57% of the population of America are fully vaccinated as per the data released from the US center for disease control and prevention.
The health professionals are unaware of what proportion of the American population needs to be protected for controlling the Covid-19 spread. The statement released with Fauci informed that a large majority of people need booster shots. While the happier news is, Dr. Anthony doesn’t think of another spike in the cases that are inevitable.
Fauci said, ” it will be in our capability to prevent this from happening.” The grade from which it will continue to come down will rely on how it will be going about getting more people vaccinated.
There are many brands of booster shots available, but as per experts those who have received the Johnson and Johnson dose 1 Covid-19 booster are more protected and should take their dose 2 as soon as possible.
Dr. Francis Collins, the National Institute of Health director, said “the Johnson and Johnson booster is more effective than Pfizer and Moderna. While the people who have gotten the Johnson and Johnson vaccination at the beginning of the year are less protected, they are well-protected.
Dr. Francis said this statement after a US food and drug administration advisory committee has recommended that all adults receiving their Johnson and Johnson single dose shot should get their second dose after two months of the first dose.
FDA has considered the committee’s advice and the CDC vaccine advisor will be asked for considering it. There are many health officials who said that the people who are getting their Johnson and Johnson vaccination will get their shots as soon as possible because it will only provide them strong protection from the Covid-19 pandemic. Especially with the delta variant which continues to stay dominant in the whole US.
