Speaking to Collider, Grant opened up about his very, very brief cameo, in which he opens the door to Benoit’s apartment and appropriately holds a jar of sourdough (a cheeky nod to the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic back in the year 2020 when it seemed like every person in the world was super into baking). He can also be heard earlier in the film calling Benoit and asking the depressed detective if he was sulking in the bathtub again.
“It’s true, I’m married to James Bond,” Grant told Collider editor-in-chief Steven Weintraub, though according to the outlet he chose not to elaborate because Chris Pine – Grant’s co-star in the upcoming Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves” – was present and has not yet seen “Glass Onion”.
“It’s the tiniest little moment,” Grant revealed, without getting too specific for Pine’s sake. “I don’t really know why they wanted to do it but still I thought ‘Knives Out 1’ was brilliant and yeah I thought why not? I’ll show up for a few hours…”
