How Has Puerto Rico Become America’s Most Vaccinated Site

Only half of the vaccine rates were joking about Irizzary and over 100 Walgreen stores in Puerto Rico.

The Caribbean island has been silently overridden by even the highest vaccination rates of New England – overloaded with deadly hurricanes in recent years, rocked with earthquakes, afflicted with political disturbance, and saddled with debt.

“Puerto Rico and the leadership, the scientific community, the healthcare community all came up with those emergencies and those collective traumas,” said Daniel Colón Ramos, professor of the Yale Medical School, who presides over a governmental coronavirus coalition.

“There was an urgent feeling. Many people I worked with were like their attitude: not on my watch. Not yet.

According to the United States Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Puerto Rico vaccinated just over 73 percent of its 3.3 million people. Over 2.3 million people. That’s about 2.3 million.

The island receives 154,563 doses per 100,000 people in total vaccine doses. By Friday, according to the CDC, it had given 4.9 million doses.

“They have done this, best I can tell,” Jha wrote last weekend, “mainly by not bundling vaccines with politics.” “Mainland politicians are less attentive. Vaccinations are actively supported by every political party. And politics [identity] and vaccines are generally not mixed.”

Jha notes that Puerto Rico is not only poor in comparison with most of the mainland; it also has a population that is larger than 21 states. He wrote that it is approximate “five times larger” than Vermont. According to the US Census Office, the poverty rate in Mississippi was approx. 43% in 2018, up from 13% nationally and over twice Mississippi’s 19,7%.

“A lot of lives were saved,” said Colón Ramos about the vaccination success on the island.

The success was attributed to the Scientific Community, the private sector, government bodies, medical associations and schools, the National Guard, and religious and municipal leadership by Dr. Iris Cardona, Chief Medical Officer, Health Institute.

Cardona, who is in charge of the program of vaccinations, said, “This is a collaborative exercise.” This co-operation included vaccine and immunization programs.

According to the members of the Covid-19 coalition, the Iceland Government has implemented lockdowns and other restrictions throughout the pandemic and issued mask and vaccination mandates, and has introduced strict rules for indoor dining and social distance.

“We Puerto Ricans do not want to be socially distant in the cultural context – we want to be close,” says Colón Ramos. Although some states have vigorously resisted the restrictions and mandates of Covid-19’s vaccines, the United States does not.

“Schwere took and criticized difficult decisions,” he said. “But mask mandates, for instance, have never really been politicized. Vaccination’s importance has never been a political problem. It contributed to the transmission of a coherent message, based on science.

Puerto Rico, according to its health department, has had at least 151,245 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 3,219 deaths reported by the pandemic. With over 400,000 Covid-19 cases, Connecticut has been killed in 8,721 about the same size as Puerto Rico.

The National Guard has created mass vaccination centers in shopping malls across the island, Dr. In remote rural towns, door-to-door vaccination was taking place in homes, especially the elderly, and the bedridden shots were taken in the countryside.
