Fans of the show have grown fond of Eli due to her naivety and bookish nature. They loved the lighthearted subject matter of the series and the essence of the books. Therefore, Season 1 generated quite a bit of hype among the fandoms. Many are looking forward to a new season. So is there any hope for Season Bibliophile Princess Season 2. Here are all the updates from the creators!
Bibliophile Princess follows the Japanese light novel series of the same name. Yui is the author of the novel while Satsuki Shiina is the illustrator. The series was published on Shousetsuka ni Naro from September 2015 to January 2022. Studio Madhouse recently wrapped its first season for Fall 2022.
Bibliophile Princess Season 2: Renewal Status
Season 1 ended on a high note in December 2022. As of now, the creators are closing the show. Therefore, it will be some time before you receive an official renewal status update. However, the ending satisfied the viewers who now want to see more. Creators usually renew their shows based on two factors: popularity and enough source material. So is there any hope for Bibliophile Princess season 2?
Well, after the end of the first season, the show is ahead of many other series that were never renewed. It has a decent rating of 6.9/10 on MyAnimeList, 3.8/5 on Anime-Planet and 70% on Anilist. So these numbers put the anime series in limbo to be renewed. The scores are not high enough to assume an additional year will be granted, but not low enough to fully calculate either. But above all, the anime series must have enough source material for a new season. Read on to find out more!
Is there enough source material?
Season 1 ended with 12 episodes. It had to cram the first three volumes of the light novel for the entire run. However, many parts from Volume 3 were skipped. Hopefully Season 2 will cover those. As of December 2022, the light novel has been collected into seven tankobon volumes. So season 2 starts with volume 4. And the good news is that there will always be new volumes as the LN is still ongoing. So yes, the makers have enough stuff for a new season. With Elianna and Christopher kissing in the finale, there’s now a lot for fans to see. Here’s the next plot.
What will happen next?
The name amber has been synonymous with nobility and bookishness since ancient times. It’s no surprise that Elianna Bernstein, daughter of a baron in the Kingdom of Sauslind, shares the same traits. She is not known as a nerd, but as the bibliophile princess. Four years ago, Elianna made a pact with Crown Prince Christopher. He would let her continue reading if she became his fiancé. Despite the high demands of the role, she gladly agreed to such a tempting offer.
Elianna insists their engagement has no romantic sentiment at all. But when Christopher starts flirting with another woman, Eliana feels more than indifference towards him. Now she must do whatever it takes to get his attention. In the new season, both start a new chapter in their lives despite the uncertainty in their relationship. Bibliophile Princess Season 2 will gradually reveal all the feelings they have caught for each other.
