Announcement from Business Editor Lori Montgomery, Deputy Business Editor Damien Palette and Breaking News Business Editor Robbie Olivas Dimesio:
We are pleased to announce that Jacqueline Peiser will be the new retail reporter for The Post, a major company with significant commercial and cultural reach.
Jackie comes to the business desk from Morning Mix, where she has distinguished herself as a creative and enterprising reporter since joining The Post in 2020. In her first few weeks on the job, she saw online video of the Wisconsin police shooting of Jacob Blake. and anchored nighttime coverage of the violent protests that followed.
On the night of January 6, 2021, he portrayed Ashley Babbitt, a California woman who was fatally shot outside the speaker’s lobby as rioters stormed the US Capitol. Two days later, an ongoing mob lynch investigation was caught with legions of internet spies combing through photos and videos on January 6 to identify rioters. He also wrote a widely read article about a survivor of the Champlain Towers collapse in Surfside, Florida, whose life could have been saved because his girlfriend persuaded him not to go home that night. And for the Post’s Sunday Magazine, she provided an in-depth story about eight siblings who found each other through DNA websites – and revealed a huge family secret.
Jackie has a knack for letting his curiosity guide his journalism, with great results. She wrote about the lobster diver who was swallowed and spat out by a humpback whale and a resourceful squirrel who hid thousands of walnuts in a North Dakota man’s truck.
Before joining The Post, Jackie spent five years at The New York Times, where she was a news assistant and media desk reporter. Raised in Dallas, she earned a bachelor’s degree in American Studies and Communications from Goucher College, where she was the editor-in-chief of the student newspaper. He also has a Masters in Journalism from Columbia University.
Please join us in congratulating Jackie on his new song. It starts on July 18th.
