Effective January 1, 2022, JAX Mercantile Company announced that it has become an employee-owned company through an employee stock option plan. Family owned and operated for more than 65 years, JAX has nine stores serving the outdoor and agricultural retail industries.
The JAX Mercantile Company dates back to a small business founded in 1955 by Marvin and Lola Quinlan in Ames, Iowa. His son Jim Quinlan added more businesses to the Colorado company and over the years built JAX into a diversified company focused on carrying quality products. Offering everything from top outdoor and farming brands to one-of-a-kind gifts, JAX strives to help customers get the job done.
