The move, dubbed “Reset and Recharge,” “reflects Meesho’s ongoing commitment to building a people-centric workplace,” the company said in a statement.
For the second year in a row, e-commerce platform Meesho has announced an 11-day company-wide hiatus from October 22, 2022 to November 1, 2022.
Dubbed Reset and Recharge, this initiative will allow Meeshoites (employees of the group) to fully detach from work and prioritize their mental well-being after the busy holiday season.
According to a statement from the group, “With a strong focus on the holistic well-being of employees, this move reflects Meesho’s continued commitment to building a people-centric workplace.” It also said that Reset and Recharge “will lead the way for other companies” to adopt similar practices primarily for employees at a time when burnout and anxiety have become major concerns for today’s workforce.
Ashish Kumar Singh, Head of Human Resources, Meeshocommented, “To build a great company culture, we must recognize that work-life balance, rest and regeneration are key to employee well-being.
“With ‘Reset and Recharge’ we continue to push the boundaries and redefine normal workplace norms. Employees can choose how to decompress—whether it’s to spend time with loved ones, travel, or find a new hobby. Such progressive policies have helped enhance our per-employee focus and industry-leading employee retention.”
Previously, Meesho had also introduced policies such as the borderless workplace model, endless spa vacations, 30 weeks of gender-neutral parental leave, and 30 days of gender reassignment leave.
Likewise, Meesho’s MeeCARE program, designed to promote the holistic well-being of Meeshoites and their families, covers a wide range of wellness initiatives through a combination of policies, benefits and other interventions. According to the company, this enables employees to balance their professional and personal goals.
