Fans of the More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers manga will be excited to hear that things are progressing with the anime series.

Today, the Fuukoi anime released a new visual for the show, featuring a look at its two main characters: Akari Watanabe and Jirou Yakuin.

The official website for the series was also debuted today, as was one official twitter page.

Along with the new visual, they also revealed the staff who will bring the manga adaptation to life.

What is the release date of the anime More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers?

As of now, no official release dates have been announced for More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers.

Until then, however, there are eight manga volumes available for fans to catch up on.

The manga has been serialized by Young Ace, a monthly magazine published by Kadokawa, since 2018. The anime series is produced by Studio MOTHER.

What will the series be about?

If you have never read the manga for More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers, you might be wondering what the premise of the story is.

Jirou Yakuin is a series based on Yuki Kanamaru’s manga. He is a third year student and has a crush on a girl named Shiori Sakurazaka. He had hoped to be paired with her during his school’s mandatory couples training class, where students are judged on their ability to work together and complete tasks in pretend marriage arrangements.

Instead, he partners with Akari Watanabe, a girl who couldn’t be more different from him.

When Akari’s crush Minami Tenjin teams up with Shiori, Jirou and Akari see it as an opportunity. They agree to work together, hoping they will do well enough to earn the right to switch partners later and end up having their actual crushes.

Who will be part of the series crew?

Along with the picture, the staff behind the expected series was also announced.

The series is directed by Junichi Yamamoto. Fans may recognize his name from other works such as Armor Shop for Ladies & Gentlemen and Ninja Batman.

The screenplay is being edited by Naruhisa Arakawa. He is known for writing screenplays for other popular anime such as Spice and Wolf and Dragon Ball Z.

Character design will be handled by Chizuru Kobayashi, who previously worked on the Pandora Hearts series.

Naoko Akuzawa will serve as art director. Her work can be seen in anime such as Persona 4 The Animation and Fireworks.

The team is completed by Misato Takahata as cinematographer, Ichiro Chaen as editor and Akatsuki Nagasaka for color design.
