Because of the anime, Shinichi Fakuda’s manga, My Dress-Up Darling, has changed forever. This year, the manga’s circulation grew by 2 million copies, bringing its total sales to 5.5 million.

Just a month ago, it was 5 million, and now it’s back up to 5 million. On January 8, 2022, an anime adaptation of the manga was broadcast on television for the first time, launching the series to new heights.

A manga with 5.5 million readers in the realm of cosplay is a good figure.

Square Enix’s Young Gangan magazine published the debut issue of the Japanese manga. Wakana Gojo, a first-year high school student who is an orphan raised by his grandfather, is the story’s protagonist. By following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Gojo hopes to one day become an accomplished Hina doll craftsman. Gojo has a reclusive personality because he is constantly teased by his peers for playing with women dolls. Until he ran across his crush Marin, who he decided to work with and get to know better in order to pursue their relationship.

Wakana and Marin Kitagawa are both students in the same class. After their first cosplay together, Marin is smitten with Wakana. Wakana’s journey continues as a new cast of personalities joins the school’s social scene. Some of the characters in the show contribute to its overall quality. Sajuna Inui, a young cosplayer, is who they are. There is also Sajuna’s younger sister Shinju Inui. A junior in high school, Shinju outgrows her older sister in size.

In the fourth edition of Tsugini Kuru Manga Taisho, organised by Da Vinci magazine, fans voted the series sixth in the “Comics category,” and it was thus given to them. The series was voted 16th by Kono Manga Ga Sugoi! readers in the year 2020. My Dress-Up Darling was placed third in a list of recommended comics for 2020 based on a survey of 1,100 professional bookstore employees.
