The steel processing facility will include both new and new BCI Steel equipment shipped to the US from plants in Malaysia and Brazil. Factory made solar tracker products will serve the fast growing solar markets in Pennsylvania, Indiana, New York and Ohio.

This is the third solar tracker production line that Nectracker has commissioned at a steel manufacturing partner as part of its commitment to rebuild America’s steel and solar supply chain in 2022. With additional capacity in Pittsburgh, Nexttracker is building 10 GW of Made in America manufacturing capacity – enough to power 7.5 million homes. Nectraker opened earlier this year A Green Steel Tracker production line in Texas with JM Steeland other Atkore. With its own steel production line in ArizonaAs part of this reshoring initiative, Nectraker has sourced more than 100,000 tons of US-made steel so far this year, enough for about 5 GW of solar trackers.

The newly opened Pittsburgh facility is ideally located near river and rail transportation in a location with a rich manufacturing history. The factory is located on the same site where steelmakers produced materials for tank landing ships (LST) during World War II.
