After Rowe v. Wade, it’s time to look at the composition of the court and how we got to this place after 50 years of abortion.
Five of the six judges responsible for the overthrow of Roe v. Wade voted are Catholics. Neil Gorsuch is an Episcopalian although he was raised Catholic. The negativity the Catholic Church has brought upon itself, now is the time to celebrate being Catholic. These judges overturned a poorly written law (in the words of Ruth Bader Ginsburg) and proved that justice and morality prevail over time.
Whether it’s the March for Life or the influence of past popes, the Church has emphasized the sanctity of life, sometimes so much that people think it’s a purely Catholic matter and not a moral matter for all.
So far 62 million children have been aborted and this holocaust is not over yet. The fight has now reached the national level. Christians, Muslims, Jews or any other religion must be united on this one question more than ever. People of faith and those with a moral sense should heed the words of Archbishop Fulton Sheen: “A refusal to take sides on major moral issues is a judgment in itself. It is a tacit acknowledgment of evil. Our Time The tragedy of America is that those who still believe in honesty lack fire and conviction, while those who believe in dishonesty are filled with passionate conviction.”
There is still work to be done. Now we must elect more and more pro-life men and women at the state level, educate everyone that lives are at stake, help pregnancy centers, facilitate adoptions, talk about personal responsibility, and bring faith to the unbeliever.
With all the violence that has taken place in our cities, communities and schools, the words of Holy Mother Teresa apply. “If we kill the unborn child, nobody can stop us from killing someone else.”
