The Centres for Disease Control and Prevention stated on Sept. 15 that salmonella had infected 127 people in 25 states, resulting in 18 patients in hospitals. A total of eight persons have now been admitted to the hospital as a result of salmonella.

Salmonella can cause serious disease in children under five, 65 and older, and those with weaker immune systems. Last week, 862,000 pounds of fresh raw antipasto items were recalled due to the possibility of salmonella poisoning, which sickened individuals in 17 states.

CDC has recommended cleaning the utensils, hands, and food. Also, dividing different foods and cooking them at high temperatures. According to the FDA, goods that may be stale should be refrigerated within two hours, and frozen foods should be kept in the refrigerator.
