With Studio Ghibli poised to build its first amusement park later this year, it seems the price of tickets has arrived.

The studio has certainly earned its place as one of the top animation studios in the world. Studio Ghibli offers viewers classic anime movies like Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, and Princess Mononoke to name a few.

Fans now know how much it would cost to visit different Studio Ghibli locations in the real world.

Ghibli Park opening times and tickets

The Studio Ghibli theme park will operate from 10:00am to 5:00pm JST on weekdays and 9:00am on weekends and holidays when it opens on November 1, 2022. Ghibli Park is closed every Tuesday.

The future theme park plans to go on sale in August 2022, according to a newly revealed breakdown. These tickets allow adults to visit the park for about $30 on weekdays and $35 on weekends.

In addition to these total prices, park visitors get access to some unique parts of the park. These include Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse, a museum-like attraction, and Dodoko Forest and Hill of Youth, forged to recreate locations from My Neighbor Totoro, Cat Returns, and The Whisper of the Heart.

Ghibli’s theme park is set to debut this fall, and it will be interesting to see how the first theme park dedicated entirely to anime fares.

This is because of how well known Studio Ghibli has become worldwide.

takumi, a Twitter user, recently developed a map of Tokyo Ghibliland. True, it’s heavily influenced by Tokyo Disneyland. However, due to the Cat Bus monorail, this is entirely forgivable.

This card is basically called The Park We Deserve. You can check below:

Hayao Miyazaki’s last film

Hayao Miyazaki, the prolific creator, appears to be coming out of retirement to direct another film for Studio Ghibli. It’s an adaptation of the classic 1937 novel How Do You Live? This will be the animator’s last film.

Miyazaki described the next film as “fantasy on a grand scale” in a recent interview with The New York Times. The article describes the story as follows:

“The story follows a 15-year-old boy in Tokyo, small for his age and prone to mischief, whose father recently died. In Bruno Navasky’s English translation, released in October, the boy looks out over the city and is overwhelmed: “The observing self, the self that is being observed, and moreover, the self that becomes aware of it all, the self that watching himself from afar, all these different selves in his heart superimposed, and suddenly he felt dizzy.”

New York Times

Miyazaki has been developing animation for decades and helped found Studio Ghibli in 1985. This wouldn’t be Hayao’s first coming out of retirement; He’s done it before, but this seems to be his last.

Within Ghibli, Miyazaki’s son Goro Miyazaki carries on his father’s legacy by directing his own films, most recently Earwig And The Witch.
