The devil is a part-timer! Season 2 release date is confirmed for July 2022, summer 2022 anime season. The announcement was made by a special Hataraku Maou-sama! The Season 2 trailer was released during an event.
The official title for Season 2 is simply The Devil is a Part-Timer!! (note the two exclamation marks).
The first announcement of the anime’s second season took place at the Kadokawa Light Novel Expo 2020, which was rescheduled from October to March 6-7, 2021.
The release period was announced during the Dengeki Bunko Winter Festival Online 2021 event, which took place on December 12, 2021.
The episode count for The Devil is a part timer! The anime for season 2 has not yet been announced. At best, season two could span multiple cours.
What is a cour, you might ask? For those unfamiliar with the jargon, a “cour” is a three-month television broadcast block based on the physical seasons, typically consisting of 10 to 13 episodes.
Considering how much source material is available for the anime sequel, it’s possible that there are multiple courses.
Hopefully the production schedule will incorporate breaks to keep quality high. In a “split-cour,” a single anime season takes a hiatus of several months before televising resumes.
The second season will feature a recurring Japanese voice cast:
- Ryota Ohsaka as Sadao Maou/Demon King Satan
- Hikasa as Emi Yusa/heroine Emilia
- Nao Touyama as Chiho Sasaki
- Yuki Ono as Shirou Ashiya/Demon General Alciel
- Hiro Shimono as Hanzou Urushihara/Demon General Lucifer
- Kanae Itou as Suzuno Kamazuki
The new character Alas Ramus is voiced by Hina Kino.
The other big announcement is that there will be a studio change for The Devil is a Part-Timer! 2.
The first season was produced by animation studio White Fox, known for (part of) current popular anime like Re:ZERO, Cautious Hero, Goblin Slayer and Arifureta. The second season is produced by Studio 3Hz, known for anime Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online.
The main production crew for The Devil is a Part-Timer Season 2 has been announced. Composer Ryosuke Nakanishi (High School DxD) returns to create the music. Series composer and screenwriter Masahiro Yokotani (Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai) also returns.
Otherwise, the main staff is all new names. The new anime project succeeds season one’s director Naoto Hosoda and will be helmed by director Daisuke Tsukushi. It is only his second time as the main director, having directed the anime Isekai Cheat Magician, but the new director has also been an episode director on popular animes such as Full Metal Panic!, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Kingdom and My Hero Academia .
Character designer Atsushi Ikariya (who was also the senior animation director in the first season) was replaced by Yudai Iino. It is his first time being credited for character design, although he also did key animation for Sword Art Online: Alicization and the Takt op. Destiny Anime.
The new chief animation director is Yoshihiro Takeda. In the past he was animation director on Digimon, Shuffle! and the film Strike Witches.
The devil is a part-timer! Season 2 OP (Opening) Theme Song Music “WITH” is performed by Minami Kuribayashi, while the ED (Ending) “The World in the Water’s Reflection (Mizukagami no Sekai)” is performed by Marina Oriuchi. The ED lyrics, music composition and arrangement are by nano.RIPE.
In the first season, The Devil is a part-timer! OP was “ZERO!!” by Minami Kuribayashi. There have been several EDs by nano.RIPE, including “Gekka”, “Star Chart” and “Tsumabiku Hitori”.

This article contains everything that is known about The Devil is a Part-Timer! Season 2 (Hataraku Maou-sama! Season 2) and all related news. As such, this article will be updated with news, rumors, and analysis over time. In the meantime, let’s get into what’s known for sure.
Hataraku Maou-sama! Season 2 release date in July 2022
As of the last update, Kadokawa, Studio 3Hz, or other companies involved in the production of the anime have not officially confirmed that The Devil is a Part-Timer! Release Date Season 2. The Production of a Hataraku Maou-sama! The second season sequel was announced in early March 2021 and the release timeline was revealed in December 2021.
Once the news is officially confirmed, this article will be updated with the relevant information.
We predicted that a different studio than White Fox would handle the second season. When the announcement was made, the studio was focused on Re:Zero Season 2 Part 2.
It is very likely that Kadokawa would wish for the anime Re:Zero Season 3 to be planned in advance with White Fox’s schedule.
Let’s also hope that the Cautious Hero Season 2 anime is also part of White Fox’s schedule! The Goblin Slayer Season 2 anime was also announced by Square Remix, so that needs to be worked into White Fox’s schedule as well.
Since Season 2 was announced in March 2021, we predicted The Devil to be a part-time game! Season 2 release date will be 2022.
The devil is a part-timer! The ending of the light novel in volume 21 released in 2020
The story of the anime TV series is based on The Devil is a Part-Timer! Light Novel Series by Author Satoshi Wagahara and Illustrator 029 (Oniku). The final novel, Volume 21, was originally scheduled for release in July 2020, but due to COVID-19 the book has been pushed back to August 7, 2020.
Several special bonus light novels have also been released, so there are 27 books in total.
The original author is currently working on a new light novel series called Dracula Yakin!, a story about a vampire named Yura Toraki who, in modern times, works night shifts in convenience stores to avoid turning to ash in the sun . But then one fateful day he meets Iris, a girl whose livelihood is getting rid of vampires!
The Dracula Yakin! Volume 3 release date is set for July 9, 2021. It is interesting that the author confirmed The new series shares the same universe as The Devil is a Part-Timer! as Volume 3 features a character from the other series.
Here’s an animated preview for Dracula Yakin! Book Series:
The original creator has teamed up with artist Akio Hiiragi to create The Devil is a Part-Timer! manga adaptation. The manga series will probably need several years up to volume 18 from June 25, 2021 before it catches up with the end of the book series.
There are also several manga spin-offs, including one that focuses on high school and food. It is not recommended to read these spin-offs before reading the light novels as they introduce characters who appear much later in the book series.
Yen Press releases the official The Devil is a Part timer! English translation in North America. English volume 19 will be released on May 18, 2021, volume 20 on August 17, 2021 and volume 21 is expected to be released in December 2021.
The first season adapted the first two light novel books. Manga chapter 24 corresponded to this ending.
However, the anime made some significant changes to the plot of the first two books. Some of these skipped plot developments have further implications later in the story.
For example, in Episode 5, after the fight with Lucifer, Emi meets up with Albert and Emeralda. Emi is given a magical angel feather that serves as a gate or rainbow bridge to wherever she wants. Essentially, the hero is given a method to return home, but the anime skipped this scene in addition to the character development involving Emi’s mother, Lailah.
Anime audiences have already been told that Emi Yusa is half angel while her mother Lailah is full angel. When Emi was given the quill, she was told, “Your father was a pretty great man.” Later in Volume 2, during a phone conversation with Emeralda, it is mentioned that Lailah should stay with Emeralda for the time being. However, Emeralda hasn’t seen Lailah for a long time.
The anime also made some changes to the final battle against Archangel Sariel (Mitsuki Sarue) in Episode 12. The anime adds how the angel became more powerful as it got closer to the moon. Archbishop of the Church of Ente Isla Olba Meyer was also absent from the battle.
What really happened is that Sadao Maou confronted Suzuno Kamazuki and convinced her to turn against Sairel. In return, Suzuno destroyed a subway station in order to scare people, thus boosting Maou’s demonic powers to fight the Angel.
After the light novel series ends, could we finally see a full adaptation? The good news is that there are already enough books for The Devil is a Part-Timer! Season 3 through 10 if the pace of customization remains the same.
Better still, only English fans who want to read before the anime can skip straight to Light Novel Volume 3 and Manga Chapter 25.
