He said his Church Street location had changed this time last year. Customers enjoying the 4th of July uptown wipe well-cleaned shelves ahead of time.
“So I prepared today because I wasn’t last year. I called multiple locations because we have nine locations; I called about nine of them. We need bread; I want burgers, I want chicken,” Alkahaut said.
Across the street, the sweet mushroom caught the early crowd. The restaurant closes at the usual time, but expect lots of people to take a stroll before heading to the stadium for the fireworks.
Mallow Mushrooms general manager Avery Cornelius said, “I’ve got a few servers left today, so if we’re a bit busy, as well as the kitchen staff, we should be ready to go.” Said.

The food stand manager said it would stay open until the crowds died down or until they ran out of food.
“Till the hot dog is gone, if he’s busy. If not, I just switch off and go. That’s it,” Angida said.
