In a making-of interview after the episode, The White Lotus creator/director Mike White said, “I think what’s happening with Greg and the conspiracy of Tanya’s death, it’s possible that I think Portia is scared has enough to just leave it alone, but the fact that all these guys are dying on the boat feels like there must be someone who will trace it back to Greg. But you might have to wait to find out what happens. ”
It’s also possible that the police will find the old Quentin and Greg photo together that alerted Tanya to their plot, but Greg’s constant disdain for Portia and his inevitable suspicion that she knows the truth sets the stage for a season 3 in which he searches with the intention of damaging her enough to knock her out of the way. Portia may also be back to seek justice for Tanya, either alone or by contacting the police in Sicily. With The White Lotus Season 3 already officially confirmed by HBO, viewers won’t have to wait long to see what happens when Portia and Greg cross paths again.
