There is one story that really would be the perfect sequel to Obi-Wan Kenobi. Back in 2019, the video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order hit consoles and introduced a brand new hero to the galaxy: Cal Kestis (Cameron Monaghan), a Jedi Padawan who manages to survive Order 66 and continue working as a scavenger scrap planet Bracca to survive. Cal is eventually discovered by the Imperial Inquisitors, and they hunt him across the galaxy as he seeks to restore his connection to the Force and become a full-fledged Jedi.
It’s a brilliant story about overcoming trauma, and a sequel is already on the way, rumored to be Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (via GAMINGbible). Cal’s story is ripe for the live-action treatment, especially since Monaghan plays the Jedi using motion capture technology and it would be incredibly easy for him to step into the role of a Disney+ series. The show could easily resume after the second game, just to put some air between itself, the games, and “Obi-Wan Kenobi.”
The Inquisitors clearly play a big role in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, and it seems like a waste not to see them again afterwards. With Cal taking on Second Sister Trilla (Elizabeth Grullon) in a large part of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, it would be interesting to see how he stops the Inquisitors from hunting down other Force users in the galaxy. Let’s not forget that Fortress Inquisitorius, who first appeared in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, will also appear in the Obi-Wan Kenobi show – so EA laid all the groundwork for those characters enter the live action. Fans have already speculated that Monaghan will make an appearance in Obi-Wan Kenobi, and if he does it would be foolish not to give him his own spin-off series.
