An unexpected Yu-Gi-Oh cosplay has gone viral on social media because it perfectly mimics Joey’s now famous chin!

Kazuki Takahashi’s classic manga franchise has grown significantly since its inception. Yu-Gi-oh was originally intended to be a much darker series of magical death sports. The series took a big turn after card games were added into the mix and became the new core of the series.

As a result, it has spawned many sequels and multiple editions of a true trading card game. But it wouldn’t have gotten this far without the original appeal.

The sensational Yu-Gi-Oh cosplay

Central to all of this success is the original cast of characters that have impacted fans in one way or another. This is especially true for Joey, who has lived a new life well past the end of anime and manga thanks to fans who have always emphasized his aggressively pointed chin.

Well, artist pumpkin6not on Twitter has gone viral with admirers for not only pulling off a flawless costume but also the iconic chin. Check it out below:

If you want to see more of Joey’s chin firsthand, the entire original manga by Kazuki Takahashi is now available with a paid membership to Viz Media’s Shonen Jump digital vault. The anime is now available to watch on Netflix, Hulu, and Crunchyroll.

Joseph Wheeler Yu-Gi-Oh character background

Joey started out as a rough, tough kid trying to get through the awful streets. He also tormented Yugi since he was younger, stealing a component of Yugi’s unfinished Millennium Puzzle. But after Yugi risked his life to protect him and Tristan from Ushio, Joey gave Yugi the last piece of the puzzle back and the two became friends.

Joey turns to dueling in season two after receiving a video message from his sister Serenity [Shizuka]who loses her sight.

Her parents were separated, and the two had previously lived with one of her parents. Joey only knows one way to make big bucks: the Duelist Kingdom tournament prize money. He plans to use it for his sister, who is her only chance at lasting sight. When Yugi finds out about this, he offers Joey one of his two star chips so he can compete for the prize money.

Joey had immersed himself in the competition after freeing the defeated Weevil Underwood from his dueling gauntlet.

Joey’s name appears on a screen as Jyonouchi in Episode 187. Because it’s supposed to be a real joke. Yu-jyo derives from the initial syllables of yugi and jyounouchi, leading to the Japanese term unity, which is the central theme of the show.
