LOUISVILEY, Kentucky, Aug. 18, 2022 /PRNewsWire/ — Mixers is proud to announce that its Master of Maturity, Andrea Wilson, has been inducted into the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame®. In 2009, Andrea broke the glass ceiling when she became the first woman to chair the Kentucky Distillers Association. Established in 2001, the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame® recognizes individuals and organizations that have had a transformative impact on the bourbon industry.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky, Andrea Wilson as a child listened intently to her grandfather’s stories about his moonlit days. After graduating from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Science, Chemical Engineering, Wilson received his Masters of Engineering, Chemical Engineering there. In 2018, JB Speed School of Engineering presented Andrea with their Professional Award in Chemical Engineering.
Prior to Mitcher, Andrea had a distinguished career at Diageo, where she rose to become Director of Distillation and Maturation for North America. Upon joining Mitcher in 2014, Andrea began a variety of positions within the company. After undertaking the work required for development at Michter’s Shivley Distillery, Andrea was instrumental in establishing the company’s farm and operations at Michter’s Fort Nelson Distillery and Springfield. Andrea currently serves excellently as Mitcher’s Master of Maturity and Chief Operating Officer. Incidentally, we are not aware of any ripening master in Kentucky before Andrea was given a name.
Since 2005, Andrea has served on the board of directors or as an alternate board member of the Kentucky Distillers Association. Various organizations have asked Andrea to help her and she has been recognized for her service. Andrea served on the Frazier Museum Task Force for the development of the new Kentucky Bourbon Trail Welcome Center and Spirit of Kentucky exhibit. In 2004 Andrea was nominated for the Business and Professional Woman Young Careerist Award. The KET documentary Kentucky Bourbon Tales: Distilling the Family Business spotlighted Andrea, and in 2018 the Bourbon Women’s Association honored her with their Lois Matias Networking Award.
Andrea lives in Fisherville, Kentucky with her wonderful husband Randy Wilson and their three cats.
